An important message from the Superpoints Team regarding some changes effective immediately:
Due to the evolving nature of our program, we are making some changes which will impact the Superpoints community. We love our members so in order to make the Superpoints website more sustainable, we have had to make some changes that align with our competitors to the Referral Program and Rewards Catalog. These will go into effect on Thursday, May 17th, 2012.
Previously, the amount of points Gold and Platinum Members could win from their direct, level one referrals win’s on the Super Lucky Button was not capped. After this change, all Gold and Platinum members can win a maximum of 1,000 points PER referral.
We understand that this is a big change to our referral program. However, we want to ensure that the Superpoints website is not only sustainable, but can also accommodate more members in the near future. Additionally, as a team, we did not want to take away the ability for you to win what your referrals win on the Super Lucky Button, so this is an opportunity to continue taking advantage of inviting new members to the site and having them join your network.
Regarding the Rewards Catalog, we have updated how many points each reward will cost. The amount of points each reward costs will now be variable and fluctuating. Some weeks there may be a sale on certain rewards, so we encourage you to check back weekly for specials on rewards.
Many of our members have requested new rewards to be added, so we will be starting to continuously add new rewards to the Rewards Catalog based on feedback from Superpoints members. Let us know what you want to see!
Although we’ve had to make these rather not so fortunate changes, we are also adding New Features to the Superpoints website for all our members to enjoy.
- The first new feature is that we have launched a brand new Offer Wall: SuperRewards! The SuperRewards Offer Wall will provide you with more chances to earn points by completing offers, additional Videos, as well as deals on magazine subscriptions.
- We heard so much great feedback about the coupons that are sometimes found on the site, that Superpoints is now offering a Coupon Page, where you can find a large selection of coupons to use at your local grocery store, favorite retailer, and more! As of now, this is for our US members only but we are working hard to find our CA and UK members great discounts and specials as well.
- We have also added a Daily Deals Page! Superpoints members will be able to find steals and deals on items they already plan on purchasing. Local deals for restaurants, shopping, salons, hotels, etc will be easily available to all our members. These can make for awesome gifts… believe us!
Additionally, the Superpoints Team wants you to know that we hear you and we are already working on more features you’ve requested to earn more points. Stay tuned… we will be giving sneak peeks to our members as soon as we can!
FAQ:

- Yes, the 1,000 point cap will begin on Thursday May 17th.

-Yes, the 1,000 point cap includes all points you win through your referrals

**If you have any further questions or concerns, please address them to support@superpoints.com

WoW! Major changes, a few I am not really happy about, but change happens, I suppose.
is the 1000 points a 1 time thing, or just every time we spend points?
You can win up to 1,000 points per referral
Now for this 1000 cap. Will it start now, like if they have already earned us over 1,000? or will it start when you the changes go into effect?
“Will I continue to win points from my referrals that have already won me over 1,000 points?
- Yes, the 1,000 point cap will begin on Thursday May 17th.”
There are a few I don’t agree with. I guess it will take much longer now to earn superpoints but it’s free so that’s the way it goes I suppose. I don’t see me getting any more referrals though, they were hard enough to get under the old system.
what happens to those that submitted rewards prior to these changes? will the rewards be gifted or we get the points back
I find it kind of annoying that it costs more to cash out via paypal, I doubt it will ever go lower than the old 500 amount.
If you redeemed before the changes your reward will be honored and fulfilled if your account is in good standing.
Too bad gold members cannot redeem items worth 500 points, I wish that was a change too.
Wow. Huge increases for gift cards. I get AGCs and it’s a big change. Would you consider letting Gold members redeem for $5 cards and members with no referrals for $10 prizes? I have another friend I was going to refer, but I will not refer her now. To have to wait until 3150 points is way too far off. 2500 points was hard enough. It will discourage people from wanting visiting the site every day when the reward is SO far off. If you want to stay in line with competitors, please note that these “competitors” do not make anybody wait this long for redemption.
Soo…basically it’s like Swagbucks rules now?
Wish you would atleast make the cap off 2000 points. Anything is better than 1000. I love getting people signed up, and I LOVE bragging about how awesome this site is. I’m not sure how this will all pan out. It’s so time consuming to get referrals as it is.
Wow, I have to say I am saddened to hear the cap that has been added AND that the rewards will be varying in value. In my personal opinion, those two features are what made SuperPoints such a great site and stood out from the rest. Not having a limit was the best thing about it. Long-term residual income from your referrals……something that only one other site now does. This will make it a lot harder indeed to redeem points and it will make it much more difficult to keep people interested. This is why so many don’t even bother with the “other” sites because they get so discouraged that there is a limit. It is so hard to get referrals as it is and now we MUST keep them rolling in. Problem is more than half never even participate when they DO join…..ugh. I really hope that one of the features you are working on is to be able to message our network. It is even more crucial to be able to do this with these new changes. Feel like I’ve been punched in the gut, frankly. Sorry, just wasn’t even expecting these types of changes to happen here. These are the things that I hype Superpoints up with and now are no longer. Please tell me I am going to wake up from this and this is just a bad dream.
One more thing, since I am only a Gold Member, I can’t even redeem for a $5 card. So now I will have to wait another month or two to earn those extra 650 points to buy the $25 gift card.
I worked really hard to get people to sign up. Swagbucks has the same 1,000 point referral limit, but their $5 amazon cards are cheaper than yours. Hopefully, you’ll let us win off of the button more to make up for it. I’m platinum with 100 spins each day, but I’ve been averaging 10 points over the last few days. It sucks.
Honestly, all these reward sites are making it much harder to earn anything now because they are getting popular and lots of people are joining so they are tightening their belts excessively. I’m sticking to surveys. This referral crap is stupid. How the heck does someone have 200 referrals LEGITIMATELY anyway?!
So not only have you made it harder for us to earn points, but you have also raised the cost of the prizes? Not Smart !!! I had a hard enough time getting referrals to begin with, now with these changes you have made it almost impossible !
If you want to stay in line with the competitors, you should also change when people can cash out. It’s hard enough to get referrals, but having such a high cap on when you can cash out if you’re basic is ridiculous. It’s made me stop using the site all together.
I’m really bummed about the changes! Limiting referral rewards stinks. I’ll never get anyone else signed up, as I had everyone I knew sign up at the beginning. =(
All the sites are raising prices on prizes- boo!
its a shame u abandon your business model to “get in line with competitors”
i was drawn to this for the straight forward manner of getting points….i guess inflation being what it is you should actually lower the cost of rewards
i still support your efforts though…but getting in line i think will be more detrimental
As a Basic Member, once you earn 2,500 points you will be able to redeem for any reward 2,500 points or less.
The new system is terrible for me. I’m a basic member in Canada. SuperRewards doesn’t work for me, and the coupons aren’t available either. I rarely get videos or qualify for surveys so I get most of my points from the wheel. I was just closing in on the 2500 points needed for a $25 Amazon gift certificate and now the redemption threshold has been raised to 3150! I don’t see anything on sale this week and I suspect the sales will be on junk prizes that nobody really wants. Superpoints is now the most expensive when it comes to Amazon gift certificates. I really hope Superpoints either lowers their prices on prizes or at least lowers the minimum redemption threshold for basic members. My fear is that with these changes Superpoints is hoping that many members (especially basic level ones) will stop using the site and Superpoints will get to keep all the unused points. I’m really hoping that Superpoints proves me wrong and that there will be legitimate sales so that all members can have a realistic chance to redeem their hard-earned points.
I have been massively promoting Superpoints to my friends since I joined and I was doing well earning points. I prefered this site over swagbucks because it was much easier to use, easier to redeem, and the prizes cost less. I am really disappointed to see that it’s pretty much a clone of swagbucks now. I will continue to use the site because I do want to earn the money for our vacation… Sometimes good things need to be left alone.
Mark I agree I am not happy with the value changes for amazon gift cards “2500 points needed for a $25 Amazon gift certificate and now the redemption threshold has been raised to 3150″ I was at the 5000 threshold and was excited that it was worth $50 now it isn’t even close… should have cashed out yesterday and ran…
I just signed up and have struggled to even get 1700 points… this site is not worth my time I can’t get anywhere with no referrals let alone now that the prices have raised.
oh & I had a hard enough time getting referrals, none of my 25 50 or 75 point bonuses are ever used, so I guess I will be stuck with just the button as I never qualify for surveys & refuse to do offers. I loved superpoints because it was straight forward. 500 points is $5.00 not this is just awful
Ahh, I hope we can get paypal gift cards naow :S
Well I’am not at all happy with this new system and rules……I have been trying hard to refer friends also, but now it will be harder, who will want to join when it takes so long to get rewarded…I was also so close to getting a 100.00 gift card, well now that got pushed back also…..Not happy about that…and I don’t think a lot of people will be happy, I wish you would please think this thru and try and go back to the old system and rules, it would be better for everyone, please reconsider…takes so many points now to get a gift card……..thanks
I already liked this site less than others because it takes a lot longer to get enough points for a giftcard and now you have raised the “prices” of your cards. I have been a member for 4 months using daily, have 7 friends, and still don’t have enough points for a $25 gift certificate. On another site I use, I’ve been a member for 3.5 months, have less friends, and have received $125 in giftcards! That’s a huge difference. I hope you are planning on coming up with way more ways to earn points easier or else you are going to lose a lot of people……..
I agree with Joanne, if you wanted to make good changes you would have dropped the cashout bottom, like she said most people we refer give up because they don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.
I can understand the 1000 cap, I really can but to say you trying to match the others, then raise prices beyond the main competitors and keep caps high for new members higher then those competitors as well is going to make it almost impossible to get anyone to stay for more then a few days.
This is a real bummer. Superpoints was a unique gem among the ubiquitous point earning websites that are out there. Really sad that we are losing something that was so great. But I guess I don’t have to waste my time spinning the endless wheel of try again.
Changes kind of suck. This used to be my top priority site to earn from….not so sure it will stay that way.
Question though: Do we earn points when we print and redeem coupons from the SuperPoints website?
Thanks!
If you’re gonna cap the referral points, then you need to provide a ledger that shows us how much each referral has earned us to date so we can track it.
Wow just saw these changes, and i gotta say was shocked; nobody i know wants to do with these types of sites, and now raising the rewards/points with 33% or more its just…it just sucks
im sure you guys will loose some ppl because of these decisions and i dont think it will match the “costs” of the changes
BOOOO.
As a member with a rank < 700 I can say that most adjustments are not beneficial and sorry to say that my referrals are more valuable for me to send them elsewhere.
The adjustment in reward costs is also a dispointment and I have to say adding more opportunites is great but overall this is a move backwards for your site.
Plus the reward amounts aren’t even numbers. Why 689 for a $5 paypal card that makes no sense. Plus it’s going to change everyday so even us gold members don’t even know when we’ll be able to get a reward. Why you guys are so cool.
I have to say I think the jump for the rewards was too large. I was really close to the first reward I wanted to get and now I fell like I am starting over. I think the cap is understandable, but perhaps to keep people around there could be a bonus added like you do with the extra clicks. Something like a day once a month were you still earn points on the members who have reached the 1000 point cap. Just saying! It took a lot of the fun out of doing this…
I am not happy about the new HIGHER prices for payout. I feel like the owner of this site makes money for all the people who use this site and now that they have even more members the prices should go down. Sorry but that is my opinion and i will probably not use this site as much now. It maybe free but the time it takes to do things on the site is not.
It’s quite easy to refer people if you take advantage of posting your referral links on coupon websites such as retailmenot.com, fatwallet.com, and so on so forth.
I’m disappointed that I have been saving my points for a prize and now I have to save even more! I liked that I got more clicks though.
These changes suck. That is all.
I wouldn’t ever care about the changes because I understand that it was a promo to get people to sign up and spread the word BUT you guys should’ve gave us a heads up. I would’ve like the chance to use my points before the increase. I have been a member of your site for a while now and I feel like it was a little shameless to just sneak it in there with an ‘Oh by the way’ message that hopefully you notice when you login. Just disappointed…
As someone else mentioned, if you are putting a cap on referrals, I think you should add a ledger that shows how much we’ve earned for every referral.
not very unique – Coupons – Swagbucks did it first , Daily Deals again Swagbucks.. Looks like y’all are trying to be like Swagbucks to me . it took me 5 1/2 months to get the 861 points I have as a gold member , It took me 2 months to get almost 4k Points on Swagbucks , Guess it won’t take a rocket Scientist to figure out which Site I will continue to use and Which I will not!
Every one CHILL OUT. Its still very easy to earn points. And payday is every Mon or Tues.
Okay so what you really mean is, you upped the points needed to get rewards, and then once in a while will have “sales” that will bring the amount of points needed probably back down to what it ORIGINALLY was, making people think they are getting a good deal when you are just trying to screw us over, you will lose a lot of people this way, i barely after a year got my first gc, and now you raised the prices even more, nice.
Yes I was wondering if you can lower the prices on the gift card’s because I’ve never won anything off of this website nor any type of contest or sweepstakes that I have ever entered and I would love to be able to say “I won this my self, and I’m proud of this prize even if it is something that I can’t use or I don’t use or I don’t want but either way I’m happy to say that I won this prize” or if you would please send every member of The Superpoints Network about 100-200 free points and I’m not trying to be rude or take control of this website but some people like me have horrible luck in contests or sweepstakes and on this website and I’m sure that every member of The Superpoints Network would be very thank full for you doing this I know that I would because I’m really poor and there are a lot of other people out in the world who would love to win some of these prizes I’ve been trying my hardest to save up to get the Xbox360 with Kinect and I’m not making any progress I only have 664 points and only 314 of them have came from the SuperLucky Button and the rest are from my daily messages on my gmail account and my to friends that I recomended to this website with a message from the website and they really don’t have that many points at all and I know that when they get points from the SuperLucky Button I get points as well and I’m trying to save up so that I can have something to do over the summer than just visiting my mom and dad like I normally do and I’m not even in a relationship right now and if and when I do get into one then I would love to be able to have something to do when she’s over than just talk or go out and eat which I have to save up for months to take my girlfriend out to dinner when I’m in a relationship so I’m saving up and I’m making no progress so please consider doing these favors for me and the other members and if you can also lower the point price on the bigger items also that would be amazing.
Thank you for your time
Come on guys it’s not that bad… I understand the cap on referals since if you could make 100% your referral makes, this site would go bankrupt fast.
I’m not that happy that redeeming stuff costs more points now but this site is still easier than most other sites (though all I do is the clicks, which are super easy) and I would rather the prices raise a little than this site go bankrupt and shut down, then I won’t get anything at all.
